Marland Names Reps For USCG Approved Sewage-Treatment Unit

Marland Environmental Systems, Inc., 57 West Avenue, Wayne, Pa. 19087, has named four distributors for the firm's sewage treatment equipment. These representatives are: East Coast — Atco Marine Corporation, Brooklyn, N.Y.; Gulf Coast — Russ- Taylor Company, New Orleans, La.; California — Werner Tanker Agency, San Francisco, Calif., and Pacific Northwest — Agentech, Seattle, Wash.

Marland's Model MSS-PT Marine Sanitation Device is certified by the U.S. Coast Guard. Some MSS-PT units have been in shipboard operation for several years. Customers include Mobil Oil Corporation, American Oil Company, Sun Oil Company, Seatrain Shipbuilding, Sun Shipbuilding and Dry Dock Company, Global Marine Corp., Cleveland- Tankers, Guinn International and Dome Petroleum.

"Marland has over six years' experience in the specialized field of shipboard sewage treatment, and the MSS-PT is specifically oriented towards meeting the USCG regulations in the simplest and most reliable manner," stated William F. Roberts, company president. Basically, this includes direct separation of the wastewater solids and batch disinfection using regular household bleach. This physical-chemical process requires no sewage-treatment skills, and the compact unit can be easily operated and maintained by shipboard personnel, added Mr. Roberts.
